Running from something... 

The descent has begun, there were spots where we were swimming through the foliage and could barely see the trail at all...with a sheer drop off on the right/left side depending on which part of the switchback you were on. 

One last look around...you can just make out the trail on the lower right of the center road. 

Aaron is chomping at the bit to begin our descent...then ascent...then some more descent...followed by the final ascent and then the final descent back to the trailhead. Lost track of the elevation gain/loss. 

The view is AMAZING!!! 

Began at 8:00am and reached this point around 1:00pm, felt like more than 20 miles! 

Only five or so switchbacks to go...then climb to the top of the rock, can you say STEEP?? 

To the trail head in true VW style...got lights, just need the siren! Thanks Eric! 

The scars, worn proudly, for all to see and covet.

1960 3-speed Popular Sport Model. Nice grocery getter, very comfortable. It's a high roller! 

The inspiration...RUSTORODDER!!! of course mine will be lower and WRX powered! 

Nothing a high HP engine and a car wash won't fix...oh yeah, lots o' cash too! 

One Sasquatch power = 100+HP! A change of scenery does wonders, now it is closer at least.

That's better, now it just needs the WRX kit installed and we're done...almost. Getting ahead of ourselves a bit, let's get it to a safe place first. 

DUDE!! That thing is in the weeds!! Any lower and it would be dirt...time for a rescue. 

Judy installed and tested (thanks Glenn) and comfy seat, now for the knobbies. No stoppin' her now!! 

1st track meet and the Britt rocker rocks it to second place in the 50!! 

The Britt rocker gets a new ride...kinda. 

Look close...there is a trail there, that is what you find on Stuart Island, arguably the best singletrack trail in the San Juan Islands. 

Noise that hurts, but you listen over and over again anyway!
